Delegates! Who they are and why they're important

Reclaim Philadelphia urges all voters to cast ballots for Senator Bernie Sanders and the individuals running to represent him at the 2020 Democratic National Convention. Contrary to many media reports, the 2020 Presidential primary is NOT over, there still remain a number of delegates to be awarded. These delegates are critical to the advancement of progressive politics, as they vote on the rules and reforms that determine whether the Democratic Party will represent the interests of working people or corporate America. Bernie may have suspended his campaign for President, but he has repeatedly stated his intention to remain on the ballot so as to fight for a more democratic Democratic Party.

We need Bernie and his supporters to continue fighting so we can fight to eliminate archaic and anti-democratic practices like superdelegates. To those concerned that such a vote can't win, don't forget that in 2016, Bernie successfully blocked superdelegates from voting on the DNC first ballot for this year's primary. As of today, Bernie has 984 delegates; he needs 1,188 in order to be able to have enough delegates to introduce resolutions. Every vote counts. That means we need you to turn out your friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors to support Bernie and his delegates on your ballot.
