Communities Not Cops: A Holiday Rally for the People

Too many Black and brown people in Philadelphia are living in poverty, through a pandemic, without the things they need to survive. We need real mental health services and support that can both respond with care in a crisis and also provide long term healthcare that leads to real healing. We need affordable, long term housing, jobs and economic stability, that can take people out of poverty and desperation to survive. We need to resource and build up community-led programs that are engaging in violence prevention and conflict resolution to help drive down the epidemic of gun violence. And the only solution the City is offering is a murderous and violent police force.

It’s time to build something new. No more piecemeal reforms. It’s time to start the hard work of dismantling these cruel systems and building up institutions that can deliver safety and security to all.

Join us for a Virtual Rally on Tuesday 11/24 6-7:30 PM to hear stories from directly impacted community members. This event is being hosted by the Philadelphia Community Bail Fund, the Philadelphia Bail Fund, Amistad Law Project, the Judge Accountability Table, Black Alliance for Trans Resistance, and Reclaim Philadelphia.
