For years, the 10-year tax abatement has given millions of dollars to developers – taking money from our schools and city services, while also fueling displacement of longtime Black, Brown and poor Philadelphians by fueling new luxury housing development. 

We have plenty of money to invest in our schools - but City Council keeps giving it away to developers. This year alone, the school district of Philadelphia will lose $61 million dollars due to tax breaks given to developers in the form on the 10-year tax abatement. You can read the full report here. Enough is enough - we must hold the 1% accountable to paying their fair share to fund our schools!
