A lot has been said about the work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., but little has been said about his authentic embodiment of the term “radical.” Dr. King was not murdered for leading the Civil Rights Movement. He was murdered for his intent to point that massive power toward labor and black economic power. It is time now -- ten months into this massive pandemic -- to follow in his lead and begin to manifest radical solutions to ensure that our people thrive.
In 2020, Pennsylvania Stands Up organized and mobilized thousands of volunteers to get Trump out of office. But for many of us, this work did not fully encompass the vision for change that we know that our communities need. Now that Joe Biden will be sworn in as the 46th president of the United States, it is time that we, like Dr. King Jr., address the root causes of racial and economic inequities in our country.
Join PA Stands Up, as we engage in political education to honor Dr. King Jr., centered on working people creating radical and lasting change in Pennsylvania.
