Come out for a night of community healing & celebration of West Philly’s culture and resilience! As our communities continue to face high rates of gun violence, we want to honor our lost loved ones, using art, music, and storytelling to cultivate healing in community with each other.
You’ll hear from community members directly impacted by gun violence and some community leaders who are providing healing, violence interruption, and other resources for our people. There will be a handful of speakers lined up, but then we’ll pass the mic to anyone who wants to share their own stories about the impact of gun violence and how they are healing. We’ll have some poets and musical performers come up after the storytelling (stay tuned for the line up)! We’ll also have a community altar, reiki practitioner, and a collaborative art piece folks can contribute to as well.
Join us on Saturday, September 25th! We’ll be at Kingsessing Rec Center from 4-6:30pm. We’re looking forward to seeing you there. Healing is resistance
Masks required for all attendees (regardless of vaccination status)! We'll have masks and hand sanitizer available on site.
