Seth Anderson-Oberman stepping down as executive director
Seth Anderson-Oberman will be stepping down as executive director of Reclaim Philadelphia this fall. After two years guiding our member-led fight to build political power for working people, he is moving on to the next chapter of his organizing work and will remain a Reclaim member.
Reclaim's Citywide Committee, the body of members elected to govern the organization, has begun the search for the next executive director.
During Seth's tenure, Reclaim members won major victories. A few of them:
Fought alongside Chinatown residents to stop a billionaire-backed arena from being dropped on their neighborhood.
Knocked doors in every corner of the city to re-elect District Attorney Larry Krasner and defend the state Supreme Court in the 2025 retention election.
Helped pass the Safe and Healthy Homes Act, so reporting a broken heater can no longer cost a renter their lease.
Organized neighbors ward by ward with the Wards That Work coalition, opening six wards and electing Reclaim members and allies into ward leadership.
Backed Chris Rabb in the 2026 primary for Pennsylvania's 3rd Congressional District, which he won decisively on May 19.
"I'm proud of what we built here, and I want to be clear about who built it," Anderson-Oberman said. "It wasn't me. It was everyone who paid their dues, showed up on their own time, and knocked doors under a blistering sun to talk with their neighbors. That's where our power comes from."
"Seth is leaving us in a powerful position,” said Elizabeth Schlingmann, Vice Chair of Reclaim's Citywide Committee. “We’ve got more chapters, more trained organizers, and leaders in more wards. And we’re looking forward to finding the right person to lead the next phase of this work."
If what we’ve built together fires you up, help us go into the next chapter stronger – chip in here.
