Reclaim’s Steering Committee recommends this first round of municipal endorsements due to the overwhelming support we’ve heard from members including through our recent member survey. We plan to interview a second round of candidates for potential endorsement in Spring of 2023.

Reclaim’s steering committee elections are underway! We are voting for who will be responsible for ensuring the political health of Reclaim - holding staff accountable to engaging members, initiating campaigns that build power for our movement and strengthening our processes so that member voices are heard and shape our path forward.

Since DA Krasner was elected we’ve seen 25 people exonerated who would have still been in prison to this day and relieved the prison population of more than 28,000 years. We need to keep families together, high-quality educational opportunities regardless of finances or ability, and community-enriching criminal justice reform. We need our local democratic process to be respected at every level of government and the power to make our own legislation to keep our communities safe and thriving.

“Our candidates faced organized bankrolled resistance: conservative Republican donors like Jeffrey Yass colluding with the Democratic machine, anti-education interests attacking our communities and fighting to silence us. But overwhelmingly across the entire city, our movement of working people of all races in all places was not defeated.”

Because of the redistricting process, the dynamics of various House races have shifted multiple times. On February 4, new finalized redistricting maps were made public, adjusting boundaries and candidates’ districts yet again. In light of this change, Reclaim Philadelphia’s Steering Committee is issuing an addendum to our previously-released endorsement recommendations.
