The Philadelphia Inquirer: Chris Rabb's election marked a big night for Philly progressives — and a rebuke of the Democratic establishment

The Inquirer's night-of analysis frames Rabb's roughly 15-point win over State Sen. Sharif Street as a rebuke of the city's Democratic establishment, which had rallied behind Street along with most of organized labor. Street's long endorsement list did not convert: three of every four Democrats who voted in the district chose someone other than the party's pick. The detail that traveled furthest is Street's concession. "The movement that gave birth to the victory today called themselves 'Reclaim,' and they wanted to reclaim the party," he told supporters, naming the organization directly. "Perhaps we need to reclaim our communities and get a little bit more engaged." He called the result a wake-up call.
