A 2022 Clout column on Reclaim Philadelphia's state House endorsement process, and the friction it caused. Brennan reports that some would-be allies accused the organization of becoming the sort of insular clique it criticized in the establishment, with candidates bristling at the barbs in the steering committee's written recommendations. Then-Political Director Amanda McIllmurray defended the process as fair and open, noting that Reclaim's 800 members, not the committee, cast the deciding votes: "We go hard for the people we think we should support, who are aligned with our vision and back up their words. And with the people we don't support, we're really clear about why."
