CAIR-Philadelphia: CAIR-Philadelphia, Coalition of 50 Groups to Rally to Defend Free Speech, Stop Deportation of Mahmoud Khalil

CAIR-Philadelphia's advisory for the March 17, 2025 City Hall rally against the detention and threatened deportation of student activist Mahmoud Khalil, a lawful permanent resident arrested over constitutionally protected speech and charged with no crime. More than 20 Philadelphia organizations turned out, and a coalition of 50 groups across Pennsylvania and Delaware circulated an open letter urging elected officials to oppose the deportation. Reclaim Philadelphia is listed among the participating organizations, alongside Asian Americans United, the Free Migration Project, HIAS-Pennsylvania, Jewish Voice for Peace Philadelphia, the New Sanctuary Movement, Philadelphia DSA and Rabbis for Ceasefire.
