RECOMMENDATIONS
Many members and supporters have asked how to vote on some of the other races and ballot questions. After reviewing the positions of allied organizations and reported information in various public outlets, Reclaim Philadelphia’s Citywide Committee offers the following recommendations. As our members did not vote on these recommendations, they are not formal Reclaim Philadelphia endorsements, but we ask that you support these candidates and ballot questions.
Member of the Democratic State Committee
The Democratic state committee is the governing body of the Pennsylvania Democratic party at the state level. Members direct the party's platform, organize statewide campaigns, and endorsing candidates for statewide offices. The party rules require gender parity -- equal representation between men and women. They don't yet have language around trans and nonbinary representation, something we urge them to rethink. We recommend only voting for the following candidates to guarantee their success.

Member of Democratic Ward Executive Committee
The Ward Executive Committee is the governing body of the Philly Democratic City Committee. Often simply known as “Committee People”, they are the most grassroots level of elected office in the Democratic Party tasked with registering, informing, and turning out voters in elections. Up to two committee people are elected to serve in one of the 1,703 divisions in the city. Unfortunately, the majority of wards in the city are closed, meaning ward endorsements are decided solely by the ward and there is little transparency over ward finances and decisions. Open wards are wards where ward endorsements and decisions are made democratically by all committee people and have been tied to higher voter turnout. In the last General Election, 4 out of the 5 top voter turnout wards were open despite only making up a dozen of the 66 wards in the city. Since 2018, Reclaim has supported organizing that opened and democratized 6 wards.
We encourage you to only support these recommended reform candidates in the following wards. Where you see a solo candidate listed with a (*) we encourage you to bullet vote that name, which means you only vote for that one candidate despite having many other options. This ensures our recommended candidates have greater success.
This list will be dynamic and will continue to be updated and we are checking with reform leaders in the wards for consent before recommending candidates publicly. We are also pulling names from candidates that are part of the Wards that Work Coalition which Reclaim is an org partner of as well as Riverwards Area Democrats, Philly Democratic Socialists, & CPUSA. There are many candidates we privately support that we cannot list publicly. We hope to have the list finalized by election day.
You can find your Ward and Division with Reclaim’s Find Your Ward Map (This is associated with the address where you are registered to vote)
